This one is for my 4-H and FFA kids!

Growing up I was a 4-H kid, showing cattle & sheep, I had breeding projects and market projects every year. From the 4th grade to my senior year in high school. Every year about a month & half before fair I would reach out to local businesses, ranchers, & farmers, telling them about me & my projects for the year. I would talk about my accomplishments I had at jackpots & other shows before fair, the work I had put into my animals & I would invite them to visit us and attend the auction during fair. I would also include a postcard with pictures of my animals & I.

Sending out letters and photographs helps create a connection between you & the community, it brings people in the community together to support the youth. They will come to the kids that reached out to them, they will want to reach out to you once fair come. Talk to them about your projects & answer any questions they have. They are there to support you! Sending out letters is a great way to get buyers for your market projects and to get more people involved in fair.

Today one of my 4-Hers and I took some photos with her & Muffin the market goat. Muffin is her first ever market animal, as her 4-H leader I taught her about the importance of reaching out to the community to help her bring in interests & buyer. She will be sending out an auction letter along with a postcard with pictures of her working with Muffin.

This year I hope you reach out to your community about your 4-H & FFA projects, have fun with it! If anyone needs help writing their letters feel free to reach out to me & I would be happy to help!
